I want information about further training or postgraduate study

What method of study would you prefer?

Think about what method of study would best suit your time, career plans and your pocket!

Some things to bear in mind:

  • Competition for full-time study is usually tougher than for part time study
  • Part-time and distance learning study are less likely to be funded
  • With part-time and distance learning you will be studying for longer and course options might be more limited
  • if you haven't started a career related job yet and a postgraduate degree is an asset/requirement for the job you want  full-time study might be the best option for you
  • If you've been working in your field for a few years, it might be hard to leave your job to attend university full-time.  Part time study will enable you to continue gaining experience in the workplace whilst undertaking a new qualification.  If the course is relevant to your job, perhaps your employer will contribute to the cost
  • Distance learning courses allow you flexibility but require considerable discipline on your part, as you will be working mainly on your own.
