I need help with applications and the recruitment process Settling in to the organisation
Your first day in a new job can be confusing.
General rules for settling into an organisation
-
Don't make suggestions for improvement when you have
not been in the post for long - you may be right - but you will make someone
look foolish; you may be wrong and your idea may have been tried
already - unsuccessfully
-
Take on every reasonable challenge - get
involved to gain more
experience
-
Take every opportunity to do training - organisations
need qualified first aiders and a health and safety officer - that
could be your ticket to move on to another job
-
Be aware of your rights and responsibilities as an
employee
-
Don't get stuck into a rut - when you can do the
job without having to think you may need a new challenge either within
or outside your present employment.
-
Keep your career plan in mind to ensure that you
are on track - if you don't have a career plan, go to Develop
a plan of action
