Chronological CV
Your education and work history are set out in reverse chronological order
with your most recent education / work experience having the most space
on the assumption that it is the element most directly related to your
next job.
A chronological CV records your: personal details, education,
work
history and interests and is the most commonly used format.
When to use a chronological CV
- Best used when your career direction is clear and the job target
is directly in line with your work history/experience.
- Advantages: emphasises continuity and career growth, highlights name
of employer and position held and is easy to follow.
- Disadvantages: when your work history is irregular or if you have
changed employers frequently, if your work experience or job titles
do not appear at first viewing to be that relevant to the job.
