Group exercises
These may be practical, discussion based or physical activities. In all
situations, assessors are looking for evidence of teamwork, problem
solving,
planning and organising the task and creative thinking. Some examples
of group exercises are:
- Tasks relevant to the job - designing store layout for Christmas
goods using certain criteria
- Practical task that is unfamiliar to everyone such as building a
tower out of paper - designing, bidding at auction for materials and
building
- Committee allocating funding for scholarships - presenting case for
particular candidate and negotiating with other members
- Role play - taking a part and playing it in a given situation
- Assault course - mainly in the armed forces
