Employment section of your Curriculum Vitae
-
It may now be more appropriate to list your employment experience before
the section on education, but this depends on the sort of experience you
have gained, the length of time since graduation and the relevance of your
experience to your application
- List jobs in reverse chronological order
- Be sure to include job title,
company name, town/city, dates of employment
- Lay out the CV so that it is easy for an employer to find necessary information, and be
consistent - use the same format for each job listed
- Think about what's most relevant to a future employer - describe your job responsibilities in order of importance
to your
next employer.
- Review the job description and company web site, and
describe your experience using skill words and terminology from these
materials. If your current job isn't directly related to the job you are
seeking, describe the job in terms of skills used.
